Community Notice

IDEA 97, Individuals with Disabilities Act, and Section 504 of the Vocational Rehabilitation Act of 1973 require the public posting and information regarding this law.

FREE APPROPRIATE PUBLIC EDUCATION
    
The concept of FAPE shall mean regular and special education and related services which:

1.  are without charge to the parent – FREE
2.  are provided in conformity with an appropriately developed Individualized Education Plan (IEP) -

     APPROPRIATE
3.  are provided at public expense, under public school supervision and direction - PUBLIC; and
4.  include pre-school, elementary school and secondary school education, which meet the education

     standards, regulations and administrative policies and procedures issued by the State Education

     Agency - EDUCATION  

The student’s rights to privacy are protected by law. If you know of individuals who fall between the ages of 3 and 21 and require special education services in the following areas:

1.  Hearing

2.  Vision

3.  Language development

4.  Physical disabilities

5.  Other development concerns
